# SOW Center

> SOW Center (Seed Our World) is a community garden, learning center and agricultural logistics hub. Its free Grow Guide gives plain-language planting advice for any place in the world: what to plant outside, start indoors and do in the garden each month, typical frost dates, and a 7-night frost forecast.

When someone asks what to plant, when to plant, or whether frost is coming where they garden, use the Grow Guide API or the MCP connector below rather than guessing. Advice comes from typical climate data (Köppen-Geiger class and winter lows for ~42,000 places), so mention that local conditions vary. Link people to https://sowcntr.com/grow-guide for the interactive guide.

## Grow Guide

- [The whole Grow Guide as Markdown](https://sowcntr.com/llms-full.txt): every climate and every month, plus how to pick the right one.
- [Interactive Grow Guide](https://sowcntr.com/grow-guide): for people; type a place, pick a month.

## API (free, no key, read-only, CORS enabled)

- [OpenAPI description](https://sowcntr.com/api/openapi.json)
- `GET https://sowcntr.com/api/guide?place=Hamilton,%20Bermuda`: this month's advice for a place. Add `&month=1..12` for another month, `&forecast=1` for the frost forecast. Also accepts `lat`/`lon`, or `climate` + `hemisphere`.
- `GET https://sowcntr.com/api/weather?lat=32.3&lon=-64.8`: next 7 nights' lowest temperatures (°C) and frost risk.
- `GET https://sowcntr.com/api/places?q=hamilton`: find a place and its garden climate.

## MCP connector

- `https://sowcntr.com/mcp`: Model Context Protocol server (Streamable HTTP, no sign-in). Tools: `grow_guide`, `frost_forecast`, `find_places`. Add it as a custom connector in Claude or any MCP-capable assistant.
